Mohamed:

I would recommend moving to the 3.1.0.6 release level of the OS/2 client
(released in November if I recall correctly).

There were a number of problems with ACL/ACPs and extended attribute data
on directories in the old revs of the client. The 3.1.0.6 release (5k and
later) seems to have fixed the problems. The only issue remaining that we
are aware of (there are probably more) is a nasty memory leak with
compression turned on during backup and/or restore. Doesn't impact the
ability to backup/restore but consumes a large amount of memory and builds
a large swap file in our experiences.

If you upgrade to 3.1.0.6, I think you'll be okay. We have been deploying
this client level at all of our customers with very good success.

Subject: OS2 Restore failure

I have again run on restore trouble with an OS2 server ( ADSM Client ver.
3.1.3).
This time I am getting the following error:

"23-03-1999 15:22:04 ANS4029E Error processing 'D:\SHARED\...........

: unable to build a directory path; a file exists with the same name as a
directory"

Restore fails. Does this make sense to anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Mohamed
