I usually use raw volumes for storage pools when I can - I wish they were
available on NT.

At what point?  When I have enough physical disks on the system to spread
the database and log volumes sufficiently across separate spindles, and at
least one that will be dedicated to a storage pool.  I have to know that
I'll never want to use the dedicated spindle for anything but my storage
pool.
