It depends if you want to make money on your clients!

I've done some testing to verify my thoughts on this.  You are absolutely
correct: if there is a limiting factor in the environment, client
compression will forestall its appearance.  However, most of us don't have
a limiting factor (my apologies to you MVS folks out there ;') ).

I'm sticking with my assertion until somebody tests a whole bunch of
clients and determines overall throughput with and without compression.
