This is how I communicate with our tape system (human variety):

Offsites are readied on Sunday, and these commands are run at 7:30 Monday
morning.  An operator uses a remove command to checkout the first "New"
list to be sent to storage.  The second list is sent to the storage people,
who send those tapes back to be checked in.  Our staff, totally MVS types,
think its a TMS they're dealing with.
