yes, only once it is marked full will it be eligible for reclamation.
its eligibility is based on the %utilized, so if you
upd stg tapepool recl=80
if at least 80% of the space is reclaimable it will be processed

Hello Adsmers,
Just a quick question on reclamation. Is a volume eligible for reclamation
only when it is full. If not what is the reclamation percentage determined
against; The estimated capacity of the tape volume, or the percentage
utilized of the estimated capacity. An example extracted from a "q vol *
f=d"
Volume Name: 156KJZ
Stg: Backuppool
Devc: Adsmdev
Estimated Capacity (MB): 5000
Pct Util: 48.9
Vol Status: Filling
Access: Read/Write
Pct. Reclaimable Space: 7.8
How is reclamation determined when I send a partly used volume offsite?
Regards
Dominic Talbot
