One of the things the agent does is to determine what notes have been sent
to the server. The way this works is to generate a list of notes the
server thinks are backed up. This is bytes sent (from the server). This
list is compared with a list generated on the client of the notes the
client thinks are there. These two lists are compared and discrepancies
are resolved. One of two things happen: if the note is on the clients list
and not on the server's, the note is backed up. If the note is on the
server's list and not on the client's, the note has been deleted on the
client. The client then asks the server to inactivate the file.

So, this type of client, after the initial backup, will see a lot of
information transfer in both directions.
