ADSM guys,

I know that there is a way to run two ADSM Schedulers on one Windows NT
Server.
[Kelly J. Lipp] Yes, you can run two (or more) simultaneous schedules to
the same server, or to different servers.

Can someone tell me how it works.

My question is: How can i run two schedulers at the same time.
The schedulers should be connect to different ADSM servers.

[Kelly J. Lipp] To run two schedules at the same time to two different
servers:

Create two dsm.opt files called dsm1.opt and dsm2.opt. In the dsm1.opt set
the tcpserveraddress to the IP address of the first server. In the
dsm2.opt file, set the address to the second ADSM server. You might also
make other modifications to the opt files depending on which server you are
backing up to.

Then create two scheduler services using dsmcutil:

c:\program files\ibm\adsm\baclient>dsmcutil install /name:"ADSM Scheduler
1" /node:clientnodename /password:clientpassword /optfile="c:\program
files\ibm\adsm\baclient\dsm1.opt" /autostart:yes

c:\program files\ibm\adsm\baclient>dsmcutil install /name:"ADSM Scheduler
2" /node:clientnodename /password:clientpassword /optfile="c:\program
files\ibm\adsm\baclient\dsm2.opt" /autostart:yes

The client node will need to be registered on both ADSM server.

If you really want to have two schedules to the same server keep the
serveraddress the same in both opt files but chance the domain statement to
have one service back up some of the drives and the other back up the rest.

 Please help.....

with kind regards, / met vriendelijke groeten,
