It depends on how far you will go back in time for a restore of
your clients. If you want to restore a client to a state where it
was 4 weeks ago, you have to keep at least 28 versions of each
file (doing daily incrementals) and deleted files have to be kept
28 days. We only keep two versions of each file and we keep the
last copy 90 days. No-one ever complained about that strategy.
If someone really wants to keep more versions, he can archive his files.
