On the novell client there is a processorutilization option,
does it exist for the novell adsm server ? if so crank it up!
Watch out for going to high 'cause you'll reach the point where TCP/IP
can't get swapped in to move the data over the networks.

Hello ADSMers
We are having a performance problems with the Novell throughput
(backup). The network transfer rate is 5,000Kb/sec and aggregate
transfer rates (98kb/sec).
The NT and Solaris platforms NTR rates are 5,000Kb/sec and the average
ATR is ( we're happy with these numbers)
OS is Novell 4.11.
Network is 100Mb ethernet.
AIX ADSM server running 3.1.1.5, Two NICs forced 100Mb.
