Hi Gail,

We have it devided according to the environment that gets backed up.

I'll give it to you as we implement it according to the different platforms:

We have Unix admin people - they do the initial software install - we do
the customization. We install ADSM with root userid - I think it is a
requirement from the installation side of things.
We also run the backups under the root I.D.
For restores we let the Unix adminstrators handle it as they normally
know the file systems pretty well and sometimes the users are not too
sure what they want restored and they end up giving you the wrong details.

On WinNT we have a support team that looks after LAN's - We have given
them the installation procedures. They also install with Administrator ID
and
normally do the restore with the Admin ID.
The scheduler as you probably know runs under the system account by default.

On Netware we normally do the installs ourselves and restores are done by
us if no Novell administrator exists for the particular machine.
The backup runs from the console so you do not have a problem there.
The restores are also done from the console.

These are the major platforms that we currently look after.

I hope this answered most of your questions.
Just some background on our environment:

ADSM servers:
MVS - 160 clients - mainly NT and UNIX
DB size - 8Gig - 90% utilized

2 x WinNT + Exabyte 220 ATL
+- 15 clients each
DB size - 2Gig - 30% utilized

We currently have 3 ADSM Admins for this environment
in total.

Hope this has helped you.
