BTW: since it is the nature of the client scheduler process to be up all
the time I strongly recommend to start the dsmc out of one of the
bootscripts that are run when your AIX box comes up (like a "autostart"
service on a NT box). That way you can be pretty sure that your client part
is running and able to contact the server without having to start that
thing manually.

If somebody needs example code for that...

I'm fresh to ADSM and Unix and its been a crazy time trying to learn both
at the same time but I ask the questions and I get the answers (at least I
hope so). I'm glad there is a list serv for this product so I can get
better
answers.

I wonder who was your ADSM instructor, certainly it looks like
he was very successful in spreading misinformation.

I start dsmc sched every time using nohup and then logoff.
I have no problems.
