G'day,
There is a 'nicer' solution. These volumes should have an 3494 category of
FFFA, right? If you do a:
mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -C -s FFFA -t FFFB -V volser
that should fix it. The FFFA category is 'manually ejected' and the FFFB
category means 'purge volume from inventory'.
For those of you that have the 3494: Practical Guide redbook, I'd suggest
that you update the list of categories documented in Appendix A with this
option.
I learnt this piece of magic from a post to this list by Ben Bullock some
time back.
