ANS1051E "invalid password" - help!

I did a test disaster recovery and database reload yesterday
(on another machine, while the production system was operating).
Things went fine.  Today, however, with the test system shut down,
I'm getting ANS1051E (invalid password) errors from the production
server, with _no_ idea what's happened.  The nightly backups failed,
I can't connect with the admin client (dsmadmc), and I don't know
how to fix this - any help would be most appreciated.
