Check the drive firmware and Atape versions. My problems went away with
firmware 4215 and Atape driver 4.2.1.0 (on AIX 4.2.1.0/F50 quad 333MHz)
engineering fix. I had lots of problems recently when the firmware updates
outpaced the Atape driver before getting to this combinition. If you can't
get or have newer versions you might want to post the versions to see if
anyone has experience with newer combinations. Love the drives, love the
software, just wish the two development groups kept in sync more.

Hi everybody!

We use a IBM 3570 MP (2 drives) to do a weekly save over the ADSM API of a
27GB DB2 database. After each save the AIX error log indicates that both
drives have to be cleaned which is done by the autoclean feature of the
library. We also do a copy stgpool and some checkin/checkput operations but
nothing more on that library.

Question: cleaning after approximately 30 GBs per drive - is this ok or
should we call IBM service to check on that?
