I'm very interested by your datarate: what kind of network are you using to
get this performances.
How many processors do you have in your machine?
Does your datarate increased upgrading backint 2.3?
My environment is:
AIX 4.1.5 in SP2
ADSM Server 3.1.1.5
ADSM Client 2.1.10.7

the parameter for backinit are:
cat init<sid>.utl
MAX_SESSIONS: xxx ==> Number of physikal drive
MULTIPLEXING: xxx ==> Number of Session per drive
I've two 3590, backint 2.3, aix4.1.5, sapdba 3.1F, MAX_SESSIONS=2
MULTIPLEXING=4
the datarate is about 30-35 GB/hour per Drive
