Can't you just put that device in the boot list ?
OK now while adsm has controll of that drive it is using /dev/mt#
where the aix system will want to use /dev/rmt# you don't want both of
those available at the same time so delete the mt# (keeping its
definition), make rmt# available, create your makesysb, delete the
rmt# (keeping its definition), then make mt# available again and all
is well for adsm again...

Hi,
I am trying to make our aix adsm server "recoverable" but I have the following p
roblem....
1) The only tape drive/s that I have available are in my exabyte 480 adsm librar
y.Is it possible to boot from a mksysb tape from one of these external adsm cont
rolled scsi devices ?
Has anybody had similiar problems ?
My server is a rs6000 410 with no cdrom,diskette or tape drive.
