1)        I do not think you can/should do more tha one export per tape.

3) With version 3 you can specify multiple volume names by using the
volumenames=x,y,etc . But if I am correct  there was  some solution for that
in version 2 as well. may be with 2.1.0.18.  May be if you are not in a
position to upgrade the server , then you can use the scratch as you are
aware of already
