Thanks Sri for your info.  Our problem is that ADSM does not support
optical
drives on MVS - that is, IBM software does not support IBM optical drives
on
an IBM Operating system!  More specifically they don't say that it won't
work, just that they will not guarrentee it.  So as you can imagine we're
not too keen on jumping in headfirst on this one :-)
