Hi,

I have a situation where the incremental backup process is taking over 24
hrs.
Most of the time is spent on the inspection of objects to be backed up,
and very least amount of time on the "actual objects" being backed up.
The ADSM server is at Version 3, Release 1, Level 0.5, running on AIX
4.3.1.

The total number of directories are about 8,000,000.
Total number of files on the system are about 2,500,000. So for every file
there are about 3-4 unique directories above it. These files/directories
are spanned across six filesystems (different physical RAID sets).

Some lines from dsmsched.log

Any suggestions, ideas to reduce/tune the time for the backup process.

Thanks
