Turns out that when you change the server mode from CLIENT POLLING to SERVER
PROMTED  or to ANY the schedules need to be
re-set. When a schedule is created under a specific mode it then keeps the
mode. In our case we had schedules using ANY because the
server mode was set to ANY. Then we changed the server mode to CLIENT
POLLING and made new schedules. This is when we discovered
no one with POLLING in their OPT file was backing up so we changed back to
ANY.

The problem was that we did not re-create the schedules when we went back so
they were still referencing the POLLING mode, which does not
work properly and IBM recommends using ANY.
We recreated the schedules and VOILA!

Lesson learned.
