You handle this by deleteing the volume history information for your
data base backup tapes... I have an administrative schedule that runs
     daily that is:
                      Schedule Name: DELVOLHIST
Description: Clean up old dbbackup vols
                            Command: del volhist t=dbb tod=-7
                           Priority: 5
                    Start Date/Time: 03/13/1997 06:00:00
                           Duration: 10 Minute(s)
                             Period: 1 Day(s)
                        Day of Week: Any
                         Expiration:
                            Active?: Yes
What this does is to delete t(ype)=d(ata)b(ase)b(ackup) entries that
are older than 7 days, the tod=-7 has an implied today making it
     actually tod=today-7

You can set yours to 3

     later,
           Dwight

HI,

The company where I presently work only keep 3 backup versions of data on tape.

Because of this they only want 3 adsm database backup versions on tape.

How do I specify that I only want 3 versions of the ADSM db?, as otherwise it co
ntinually uses up valuable scratch tapes.

Thanks for any help.
