You can make a remote restore on any unix box using telnet or X11. By
default, you don't have something like this on NT,OS/2 or Novell boxes. I
think this was the intention for the webshell clients, but - why should I
use a webshell client if I had to walk to my NT box to start the webshell
because the webshell client is not a service?
You might do a remote restore on any platform you have a scheduler running
if you know exactly the files to be restored, using immediate client
schedules. (If you have multiple files which won't match a pattern, you
won't like it).
