V3 client with AIX 431 and polling/prompted mode
1998-08-13 11:09:18
Hello ADSMers,
i have a little question about a AIX client (431 with adsm client v3.1.0.3) and
I'm not a unix expert ...
Server is on VM (adsm v2).
For other AIX platforms (415 and 421), we used adsm client v2 (with the same
dsm.sys) with no problem.
We get in the client log :
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Node Name: xxxxxxx
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Session established with server ADSM: VM
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Server Version 2, Release 1, Level 0.17
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Data compression forced on by the server
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Server date/time: 08/13/1998 15:31:10 Last access:
08/13/1998 15:26:10
08/13/1998 15:30:01 --- SCHEDULEREC QUERY BEGIN
08/13/1998 15:30:01 --- SCHEDULEREC QUERY END
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Server is not currently supporting client polling.
08/13/1998 15:30:01 ANS1029E Communications have been dropped.
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Will attempt to get schedule from server again in 5 minutes.
08/13/1998 15:30:01 Time remaining until execution:
The dsm.sys contains :
SErvername adsm
COMMmethod TCPip
TCPPort 1500
TCPServeraddress yyyyyyyy
Inclexcl /usr/adsm/include.list
dirmc mcunix
schedlogretention 3
schedlogname /usr/adsm/dsmsched.log
schedmode prompted
passwordaccess generate
compression yes
NODename xxxxxxxx
Although the dsm.sys file contains "schedmode prompted", when we start the
scheduler on the AIX client, we always get the log (inclued above).
Could you tell me where i'm wrong ?
TIA,
Pascal.
