Well, if it is a unix client you could
1) define a "VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT" of/for that directory
2) define an exclude statement for that directory
exclude /some/path/specificdir/.../*
3) have a scheduled event to perform either a
A) archive /some/path/specificdir/* -subdir=yes
B) selective /some/path/specificdir/* -subdir=yes
remember include/exclude statements only impact incremental's as far
as back it up or not goes... with archive and selective commands the
only thing a match with an include/exclude does is bind the data with
a management class if one is listed ! (and you can still override an
archive management class assignment via the -archmc= )
(at least it all checked out that way in V2, I haven't double checked
V3 yet)

Dwight

Hello backup folks!
We have a third party program with data in one subdirectory stored in
multiple files. Occasionaly the data becomes corrupt, requiring a
restore. However, because its a third party app, no one is quite sure
which files need to be restored and from what date.
Usually, we run incremental backups of the entire drive overnight. Is
there an easy way to backup all files in only this subdir, and perform
the incremental on the rest of the drive?
Thanks a lot for an insight provided!
