Carl,

I understand and agree with the problem you are reporting concerning the noise
that
is generated by lots of meaningless WEB admin connection messages in the
activity log.
A new ADSM service level that may be delivered in the Sept.-Oct time-frame
eliminates
this noise by only reporting an ongoing WEB session once every 10 minutes or so.

I apologize for the unneeded messages and hope that this new solution meets you
needs.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who responded about stopping web browser
messages from being recorded in the activity log.

Unfortunately ADSM won't let you stop SERVER messages from entering the
activity log. The web admin interface reporting in the log is seriously
screwed and is starting to greatly annoy me.

The activity log is a very useful resource, but ANY web admin interface
session pollutes the log so greatly that it becomes difficult to browse.

If you want to see what I'm trying to deal with, try debugging a library
problem via the activity log on a TTY terminal while somebody else uses the
web admin interface.

Can someone point me in the right direction to either one of the
developers, or to the IBM sanctioned "user request" mechanism in an attempt
to get this fixed?

Thanks,

Carl.
