John:

Thanks for responding. Right now, there is a tremendous concern here with
the number of Ethernet-related IP time-outs we're receiving on the Notes
servers during any hour of the day (pick one) , so it's possible ADSM was
more a victim than a culprit in this situation. However, I'm not
discounting the errors received indicating the runtime library MEMPOOL
problem had not been remedied even after the latest PTF was applied to the
two servers. The network folks are backing out Ethernet early tomorrow
morning, and I may reload the BA client and connect agent code once again
--- if similar messages start appearing after the 2nd install, IBM will be
receiving my problem call.
receiving my problem call.

Testing: it appears as though the agent runs through a number of the Notes
databases, and then stalls. It sits for quite a period of time before
finally stopping altogether --- there are no messages generated during this
lull. I've checked the usual time-out parms on the MVS server, and there
should be plenty of time to connect and get something going with little
regard to other traffic. Everything looks good in the options file ---
plenty of time there as well. This could be a symptom of the Ethernet
problem (one among many), but then again maybe not.

One question for you however: when you introduced the latest connect agent
into your Notes environment, was it the 1st time the agent had been
installed? or was the latest code an upgrade? That may make a difference in
some obscure way.

Thanks much!

Cindy:
I am running the Connect agent with Notes clustering 4.52b and have not
seen
any problems other than it seems to take the Agent a long time to run thru
the
databases. I hope this is only because it is the first time thru.

Is there anything assosciated with the errors you are seeing you would like
me
to test.

Server: OS/390 running ADSM 2.1.13 and TCP/IP for MVS 3.1
Client: NT server 4.0, SP3, running ADSM V3.1.0.3 (PTF 3)

Does anyone know if there are issues to be considered when using the Lotus
Notes Connect Agent/NT and clustered Notes servers? I've been repeatedly
seeing that error message about MEMPOOL coming up on two of the newly Notes
clustered servers, but the latest connect agent fix has already been
applied to both machines, and that should have solved the runtime library
problem associated with MEMPOOL. There are no other error message giving
other specific info, and unfortunately, these two machines are not only new
to clustering, but to Ethernet as well (which is making life difficult with
throughput rates right now on top of everything else).

Input is welcome!
