   I've checked our permissions, and they seem to be the same as yours.
Our problem must be somewhere else, perhaps something in iBCS or a
permission on a device.

The only difference is that you have a file called /usr/bin/filter.adsm,
but judging by the modification date, it must have been created during
the normal running of ADSM.

What version of Linux are you running, and whar distribution?
I am using Linux 2.0.30.0, Slakware 3.4
