Thanks to Stan and Wanda for their replies. However, I think I should supply
some more information.
We were using Enhanced ADSM 2.1.12 with acsls and it was working fine. I
upgraded ADSM to 3.1.1 and turned acsls off. Just over a week ago, I moved to
3.1.1.1 and turned acsls back on. Once I got the library and drives redefined, I
tried mounting a tape and got the STATUS_IN-COMPATIBLE_MEDIA_TYPE error. I
checked acsls and the drive types for the DLT7000 are now "4890" instead of DLT.
The microcode on the drives are at the latest and greated (v70, I believe)
The microcode on the library was at 1.8. We down-graded it to 1.5 but that did
not make a difference.
The only thing that really changed is that I am now using the /dev/mtx device
files instead of the /dev/rmtx files.
Anyone else out there follow the same migration path as myself? Did it work?

Subject: Re: Upgrade from 3.1 to 3.1.1.1 with acsls
Dan,
I can provide a few suggestions but STK support center probably a
better source for this question.
1. Can you do a successful mount from the ACSSA console? I suspect
it will fail too.
2. Check your /export/home/ACSSS/data/internals/mixed_media
directory. There are a few .dat files, do they indicate DLT7000 or
DLTIV media support?
3. Your barcode label, does it indicate DLTIV media? There is a
little 'c' 'd' or 'e' characters on the label and I beleive they
correspond to media_types.dat

Stanley
