I know this should be simple, but . . .

I am trying to define an 8mm external tape drive to ADSM.

define drive tapelib 8mm device=/dev/mt0

This device is known to everything else on the system as /dev/rmt0, but
ADSM says that you cannot use the /dev/rmt0 device and must be /dev/mtX,
X being the drive number. We have no devices /dev/mtX, but do have a
/dev/mt0.1 definition on the system.

I keep getting an i/o error when I issue this command.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
