First, thanks to Richard for bringing up a very disturbing issue.

I join the others about the need to have the postings arrive in a "clearer
shape". Unfortunately, I don't know what to do, but I wanted to comment
that the "=" from some ppl's postings may be equivalent to others' "3D',
as in the ASCII table, the representation of '=' in Hex is - "3D".
I'm not sure whether and how this may help, but maybe ?

A possible solution for some of us, as far as reading "problematic"
postings maybe (if your MUA allows it) to filter the message through
some command/script (using tr and maybe other utils when on unix).
Has anyone out there got something a bit smarter than just replacing
all these = and 3D by whatever (new line, space ?). (a simple substition
is not a great idea, because then we can't see posts with a '=' sign..
