John - MIME stands for Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extension.
It is for sending binary, graphics, voice, video, and
other types of non-text data as attachments to SMTP messages.
It's great for sending enhanced information to those with the
software and hardware which can exploit it; but of course it
it a little worse than useless in a mailing list like ADSM-L.
