Hi Shane,
For scratch volumes you don't need to issue a "define volume" command. ADSM
will do this automatically when it utilizes the tapes.
1. label the volumes (dsmlabel)
2. checkin the volumes (checkin libvol libname status=scratch search=yes)
* for v3 server you can combine step 1&2 with the 'label libvol" command
3. update your maxscratch parameter if needed (update stgpool stgpoolname
maxscratch=##)
