Hello,
I have ADSM V2 on AIX, with an IBM 3570 MagStar Library.

I have a number of tapes that i use for storing Backups of the ADSM Database. I
would like to recycle these tapes as each
one has a FULL backup of the database, and i do not want to keep buying tapes.

I have tried issuing "BACKUP DB TYPE=FULL DEVCLASS=devclass
VOLUMENAME=volume_name SCRATCH=NO" to a tape with a DBBackup on it.
The server replies that it can not perform a DBBackup to the tape because it is
already in use. I have tried a "DELETE VOLUME" on
the tape, but the server replies that it cannot delete the volume because it
does not belog to a storage pool!!

Question: Is it possible to reuse a tape that has a DBBackup on it ? Can it be
re-used for anydata or just DBBackup data ?

Thanks for any Help
