Okay, a couple of more things on this... one of the ADSM server developers
mentioned that this APAR is fixed in a forthcoming PTF, and that you will need
to specify:

COMMMETHOD HTTP

in the ADSM server options file in order to use the web admin (I was mistaken
in that I thought this was a default setting).

The "Error retrieving message 21329 for 1 fromEN_US" is a bug (APAR IX73015).
I'm not absolutely certain when this will be fixed, but it's likely going to be
in our next PTF.

Regarding the ADSM Admin... is this the Admin GUI or command line interface you
are trying to run? In ADSM V3, there is no Admin GUI for AIX. However, there is
a web-based Admin built right in to the ADSM V3 server. Try pointing your web
browser to the machine that your server is running on and specify the web admin
port number. The default port number is 1580. For example, if the IP address
for your machine is machine1.yahoo.com, then you would set the URL to:

     http://machine1.yahoo.com:1580

Hi,

 I am trying to install ADSM V3.1 try and buy on an RS6000 running AIX
4.2.1.

Whilst installing the server.rte package I got the following message;
  ANR4693I Interface driver information will be loaded in quiet mode:
   Only warning and error messages will be displayed.
  Error retrieving message 21329 for 1 from EN_US.

I continued with the installation and after setting up my .opt .sys
files, I try to run the ADSM Administrative Client by clicking on the
icon and I get the message (X2);
 Error opening catalog adsmez.cat and message set 1.

I am using LANG=en_US and have set MESSAGES and CULTRAL_CONVENTION to
en_US.
