Is it possible that the kernel extensions aren't getting loaded? I.e. are
you starting the server using "/usr/lpp/adsmserv/bin/rc.adsmserv".

(Disclaimer: This is just a guess on my part and should not be misconstrued
as some sort of a correct answer! :-)
