v3-client: 30% SESSIONS LOST, no errormessage ?
1998-03-09 05:29:15
hi all,
I use v3-clients on DEC-Unix 4.0B
(Server Version 2, Release 1, Level 5.15 on AIX-RS/6000)
30% of all sessions get lost at any point
(f.e. durung statistic-output in the middle of one line)
at least for a number of days until scheduled reboot.
In 95% there is no "session-lost"-message! Apparentely there is no
timeout nor heartbeat-controll on the client-side as well (??).
-Is there a way to detect the state of a connection ?
-Is there a way to invent a timeout on clientside ?
-Is there a way to invent a timeout on clientside ?
-Are there specific signals to be sent to client-processes in case
-Are there specific signals to be sent to client-processes in case
they
they
would block? etc.
Thanks for any help
