The temporary fix for IX74458 disables reconstruction of aggregates during
reclamation. With this fix, reclamation removes empty space between physical
files, but does not reconstruct aggregates to eliminate vacant space that
might exist due to deletion of logical files from within the aggregates.

The reason for providing this fix was to eliminate the problem in which
reconstruction processing caused invalid data to be written in rare
situations. A second reason for turning off reconstruction was to facilitate
analysis of this problem by a set of utilities that will be provided in the
future. One of these utilities will examine the ADSM database and idenfify
files within reconstructed aggregates that could be affected by the
reclamation problem. Other utilities will allow you to view information about
the affected files or to delete selected files if you choose to do so. After
you have taken appropriate action with respect to the affected files, you can
run a utility that turns reconstruction back on. By disabling reconstruction
until after the utilities have been run, a more accurate analysis is possible.

We have been developing a detailed set of utilities to assist you in
recovering from this situation. The utilities are now being tested and will
be made available as soon as the testing is complete.
