Yes, I got these all the time on the DLT7000's.  I have since traded them
in on a 3575 Library with MagstarMP 3570 drives, and these drives properly
sense EOT without generating a write error.  The 3570's are faster than
the DLT7000, but do not hold nearly as much data on a tape.

If I still had DLT's, I would open a problem report with IBM against the
mt device driver...
