We had this problem on both AIX 3.2.5 and AIX 4.1. An APAR was opened
with IBM and they fixed the problem. In our case, the problem was not
the compression itself, but rather a bad codepath in the decompressor.
The actual backup files were good -- they just could not be
decompressed on the AIX platform. I would try a later version of the
client (the absolute latest you can find).
