This is the instruction on how to use the ADSMConnect Agent
on a Lotus Notes server on AIX.

Backing up and restoring databases on a Lotus Notes server on AIX

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lotus Notes server locks databases that are being used by the ser The
Lotus Notes server locks databases that are being used by the server
itself and also locks databases that are being accessed by users.

In order to access the locked databases, the DSMNOTES commands
MUST be issued on the Lotus Notes server console.

Use the same syntax for the DSMNOTES commands prefixed with the Lotus Notes
  server's command, LOAD.

  For example:

          LOAD dsmnotes incr mydb.nsf -adsmpw=mypw

          LOAD dsmnotes restore mydb.nsf -adsmpw=mypw -to=mydb_1.nsf

NOTE: If you are backing up all databases in the Lotus Notes server's
data directory, specify "*" instead of "\*" . The back slash character
  is not needed.

  For example:

          LOAD dsmnotes incr * -adsmpw=mypw

Subject: Notes Agent: Cannot backup opened database

Hi.

I'm trying to backup a Notes Database and keep getting this error message:

"NOTES: This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to
share a Notes database, all users must use a Notes Server instead of a File
Server."

I've checked and the only process using the database file is the Notes
server. Even if no one is using that database at that time, the server has
a hold on the file and this seems to be the reason for the backup falure. I
think the environment is correctly setup, as I can do a backup successfuly
if the database isn't opened.

Does this means that I can't do an online backup? Help, anyone?
