I have my 3570 doing manual tape mounts in automatic mode.  It was a pain.
I had to write perl scripts to monitor the dsmadmc -mountmode and prompt
the operator for a tape. Then it had to check the volume in, and when
done eject the volume. I had to reserve 1 slot in the library to hold
the transient manually mounted tape.

If there's a better way let me know!  But I need the library in automatic
mode anyway.
