If you do change the ownership of obackup to root, when you go to restore the
files they will be owned by root and not the original owner unless it was root
to begin with.
Also this seems like a security problem.

#Is backup a sharedmem or tcp/ip? If it's sharedmem, you have to modify
#the ownership of obackup to root.dba, and you have to set the uid bit
#(chmod u+s obackup)
