If you want to use the ADSM scheduler to perform the selective backup, you need
to set:
OBJECTS="SYS:\*"
OPTIONS="-SUBDIR=YES"
Note that for scheduled events, the OBJECTS and OPTIONS are coded just as you
would if you were manually running the command, i.e. "LOAD DSMC SELECTIVE
-SUBDIR=YES SYS:\*". The "OBJECTS=SYS:\...\*" is really an invalid file
file
specification, as the "\...\" part is good in INCLUDE/EXCLUDE statements only.
Hope this helps,

Make sure there are on "EXCLUDE sys:" statements in the dsm.opt. Also I
thought the command was "load dsmc selective sys:" From the Novell console
prompt

Subject: Selective backup & Novell
Hi All,
I've run into a problem on our Netware servers that doesn't
seem to figure...
We have a Novell 3.12 server running the latest ADSM code,
and we can not get a full backup of the system.
There is only one volume 'SYS:\'
We set up a schedule action=selective
objects="sys:\...\*.*"
There is about two gig of data to be backed up on this
server, but we only get about 5K backed up and then the schedule
ends sucessfully.
I'm either going nuts or is there something I'm missing?
TIA
Christo
