It depends on what kind of tape system you are backing up to, whether or
not
some one will have to mount the tapes or not.

As for the number of tapes will depend on the kind of data you are
backing up
and how often. On an incremental the first time, it will take every file
that you tell
it to. After that it will only get the files that have changed.

Reclamation is done automatically if it is set up right and it will
prompt for the tapes
that it needs, if they are not in the library. The activity log will
tell you a lot about
what goes on. Also it will depend on how you set up your policies and
storage pools.
