As one of the people who has a mail program that automatically copies over
the previous note on a reply or forward, I understand where you're coming
from on the replies - it does get to be a very long note, especially after a
note has gone back and forth a couple of times (and one of mine did last
week, although I did trim it after a while...... mia culpa).

However, I also find it very frustrating when a response comes back, with no
attached information - the worst case might be a response that consists only
of "Yes" or "No" (or "Maybe?") Therefore, can I propose an alternative, and
suggest that people clip just the salient points of the original note, and
then follow that with a reply? That way there is (hopefully) some indication
of the original subject/problem when a response is made.

PS. Since your original note was so concise and to the point, I left the
whole thing below..... I hope this doesn't blow mcredibility :-)

I've noticed lately that quite a few notes to the ADSM list also include
the text from the note being answered. In some cases, its getting out of
hand. A note posted to the list yesterday contained over 500 lines, most
of which were the text of the previous notes already posted to the list.
I realize some e-mail software does this automatically. However, I'm
requesting that you either turn this feature off, or have the courtesy
of deleting the text before you send the note. I'm sure everyone on the
list will be grateful to you for taking the trouble. Thanks.
