Evidently you haven't been following this server very carefully, there
have been many postings (Some over this weekend).  The answer is
that some people are having serious restore problems while others
aren't.  But to generally tell someone that a restore will take as long as a
backup is very misleading, writing to disk always takes longer than
reading from disk.  If you are using RAID technology you could be in for a
bigger surprise.  There is a thing called RAID write penalty that you have
to contend with.
