We use mvs server on a 120 mips machine with a 3494 1800 cartridges and
we backup over 3172 ATM Lan connected and we have a thougput
elapsed all included of 2,8 giga/hour/session and we have about 10
parallel sessions (We could have more) so we have
20 giga's / hour but we could do better of course. We backup Oracle ,
SAP/R3 , Nt 4 , HPUX, Novell Os2 and more .
We tried an Nt bi pro200Mhz with high speed disks as a adsm server but
after 10 minutes the machine was down.
MVS with a lot a chanels and cpu is very nice for us.
