I've seen TrapD in the following situations:

1. problems with device drivers for lan-adapters, especially with
   LAN streamer pci-cards (dual & triple) in IBM server 5xx and 7xx.
   Try a newer device driver!

2. inconsistencies in the filesystem (hpfs). You can find out which subdir
   tree is faulty by backing up selective subdir trees. But in a productive
   environment I would prefer to reformat the entire partition.
