Has anyone had this type of problem happen...
Running ADSM 2.1.0 v12, when I issue the command:
move drmedia <tape name> wherestate=mountable
Of course the command issues a process and goes on its way, during this process
if I issue
the command "q drmedia" nothing is returned to the screen, in fact the cursor
stays in a
hung state. I need to issue a "<ctrl> C" to get out of "dsmadmc" and then
return.
Now here is the interesting thing about this, the process never ends it will
stay in
a running state, meanwhile the tape has finished processing, it is returned
back to
its slot in the library, I never receive a "reply" to acknowledge the checkout,
nothing
shows up in a "q request", nothing in "q mount", and the last log entry for
this process
was "verifying label". The process, if I issue a "cancel process" will never
end it will
stay always pending. What I end up doing is shutting down ADSM and restarting
the server.
Now if I restart the same process as above and let the " move drmedia" finish
everything
works great.
Why would the "move drmedia" process hang up if I where to issue a "q drmedia"
???
This is not good especially when one operator might be running the " move
drmedia" command
and then someone else issues the "query" to look up the status of drmedia.
Any help on this would be appreciated....
Thanks in advance.
