Hi Peter and ADSMers,

What other server parameters have you set up? I am transferring my data
from non collocated to the collocated tapes and the transfer rate is
extremely poor for 6 DLT 4000 drives in the STK 9710 library. It has been
over 24 hours and only 843,388,247 bytes of data has been transferred
though MOVESIZETHRESH is set to 1000 and MOVEBATCHSIZE is set to 40.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Naveed.

Would there be any benefir to increasing the value of MOVEBATCHSIZE?
My understanding is that MOVEBATCHSIZE indicates the maximum number of
"files" can be moved in a single transaction between media, while
MOVESIZETHRESH indicates the "maximum quantity" of data to move in a single
transaction.
With your MOVESIZETHRESH set to 500, it would imply that unless your files
averaged 12.5 Meg in size, you'll never be seing the benefit of the 500 M
Threshold. The ADSM Performance Tuning guide suggests uping MOVEBATCHSIZE
to 1000.
